Belle, a young woman whom her village calles "peculiar" wants to save her father from a castle. In a deal she remains in the castle and the father comes free. The castle is inhabited by the "beast", which is very suspicious, moody and unsympathetic. But gradually, Belle and the beast join each other and she sees in him the good sides and learns that he is an enchanted prince ...

An intrusive musical film with a very theatrical background. Also the change of the beast is so unbelievable. Immediately, a villain becomes a lover. And Emma Watson is by no means a very good actress, it's boring to watch her.

Belle, eine im Dorf für "komisch" befundene junge Frau möchte ihren Vater aus einem Schloss retten. In einem Deal bleibt sie dafür im Schloss und der Vater kommt frei. Das Schloss wird vom "Biest" bewohnt, was sehr argwöhnisch, launisch und unsymphatisch ist. Doch nach und nach freunden sich Belle und das Biest an und sie sieht in ihm die guten Seiten und erfährt, dass er ein verwunschener Prinz ist...

Eine aufdringliche Musicalverfilmung mit einem sehr theatralischen Grundton.  Auch die Wesensveränderung vom Biest kommt so unglaubwürdig rüber.  Im Nu wird aus einem Schurken ein Liebhaber. Und Emma Watson ist bei weitem keine sehr gute Schauspielerin, es ist langweilig ihr zuzuschauen.
