Miranda, eine Krankenschwester trifft ihr Blind Date Zuhause. Doch es ist ein ganz anderer Mann, der sie brutal vergewaltigt. William wird verhaftet. Doch Miranda schreibt ihm Briefe in den Knast und trifft ihn dort regelmäßig. Was hat sie vor?

Was für ein Scheiß. Absoluter Bullshit. Schlechter als Trash.

Bobby and Stig both work as undercover agents and want arrest the drug kingpin Papi Greco. Amazingly enough is, both dont know their two secret identities. To prove Papi drug trafficking, both rob a bank where Papis money is stored. But there is far more money than expected. Stig leaves Bobby back in the desert, after he shot him. Since he did not murder him, Stigs commanders try to kill Stig. Etc.


The film over-eggs the pudding, but no credible story delivers. Bored me.

Bobby und Stig arbeiten beide als verdeckte Ermittler und wollen einen Drogenboss Papi Greco dingfest machen. Erstaunlicherweise wissen zu anfangs selbst nicht von ihrer beiden geheimen Identität. Um Papi Drogenhandel nachzuweisen, rauben beide eine Bank aus, in dem Papis Geld gelagert ist. Es handelt sich aber um weit mehr Geld, als gedacht. Stig lässt Bobby in der Wüste zurück, nachdem er ihn angeschossen hat. Da er ihn nicht ermordete, wollen Stigs Befehlshaber Stig umbringen. Usw. 

Ein Film, der dick aufträgt, aber keine glaubwürdige Story liefert. Hat mich gelangweilt.

Josh and Cornelia, both mid-forties perform a routine, rather passionless marriage. The desire to have children, they had to cut off after a few failed attempts. That her best friends now have a baby, both are confronted again with their wish. Josh works since 10 years on a documentary, he just does not get done and he still can not pay his cutter. Then both get to know a hipster couple, Darby and Jamie and are impressed by their spontaneity and nonconformity. Cornelia goes with Darby now to a hip hop dance class and Josh helps Jamie with his new documentary project. Also they all four together visit a mescaline-workshop to expand their consciousness.


The film is fun, but the twist seems somehow floppy. Noah could have done a better clue.

Josh und Cornelia, beide Mitte Vierzig führen eine routinierte, eher leidenschaftslose Ehe. Den Kinderwunsch mussten sie abschlagen nach einigen missglückten Versuchen. Dass ihre besten Freunde nun ein Baby haben, erfüllt beide wieder mit Sehnsucht nach Nachwuchs. Josh arbeitet seid 10 Jahren an einem Dokumentarfilm, den er einfach nicht fertig kriegt und seinen Cutter immer noch nicht bezahlen konnte. Dann lernen beide ein Hipster-Päarchen kennen, Darby und Jamie und sind von deren Spontanität und Nonkonformismus beeindruckt. Cornelia geht mit Darby nun zu einem Hip-Hop-Tanzkurs und Josh hilft Jamie bei seinem neuen Doku-Projekt. Außerdem besuchen alle vier zusammen einen Mescalin-Workshop, um ihr Bewusstsein zu erweitern. 

Der Film macht Spaß, doch die Wendung erscheint irgendwie floppig. Da hätte man mehr draus machen können. 

The Gift

The young married couple Simon and Robyn Callum moves into their dream home in Los Angeles. A young man (Gordon) visites them and it turns out that Gordon was a classmate of Simon. Gordon leaves gifts on the doorstep and will pass more often. This alarmes Simon and Robyn, since they can not assess Gordon and because some inconsistencies occur in terms Gordons privacy. When they ask him to not show up, suddenly their dog disappears. Robyn gets into stress and resumes tablets.  Their flagship life gets out of hand. What does Gordon wants? Is he just fell in love with Robyn or it's about something else? Take a look at the film! Very exciting! The first hour of the film, the director plays with the audience's expectations. How do you assess Gordon? Is he a psychopath?

It is a great art to bring a thriller without action still at high voltage. This succeeds Joel Edgerton with flying colors.

Das junge, verheiratete Ehepaar Simon und Robyn Callum zieht in ihr Traumhaus in Los Angeles ein. Ein junger Mann (Gordon) begrüßt sie dort und es stellt sich heraus, dass Gordon ein Mitschüler von Simon war. Gordon hinterlässt Geschenke vor der Haustür und kommt öfters vorbei. Dies beunruhigt Simon und Robyn, da sie Gordon nicht einschätzen können und weil einige Ungereimtheiten auftreten, was Gordons Privatleben angeht. Als sie ihn bitten, nicht mehr aufzukreuzen, verschwindet plötzlich ihr Hund. Robyn gerät in Stress und nimmt wieder Tabletten. Ihr Vorzeigeleben gerät aus dem Ruder. Was will Gordon? Ist er nur verliebt in Robyn oder geht es um etwas anderes? Schaut euch den Film an! Sehr spannend! Die erste Stunde des Filmes spielt der Regisseur mit den Erwartungen der Zuschauer. Wie kann man Gordon einschätzen? Ist er ein Psychopath?

Es ist eine große Kunst, einen Thriller ohne Action trotzdem auf Hochspannung zu bringen. Dies gelingt Joel Edgerton mit Bravour.

Quigley down under

Matthew Quigley, an American marksman and buffalo hunter is hired by an Australian (Mr. Marston), to eliminate the dingoes that disturb him on the farm and in the surrounding countryside. But arrived in Australia things look quite different again, because Marston actually means the Aborigines to kill. Quigley gets pissed and lays in with Marston. He and the "Crazy Cora" get suspended semiconscious in the outback, where they almost die. After all, they are rescued by Aborigines and get shaman healing. But Marston`s people are still after him and there will be many shootings.

A very good Western with a fabulous Tom Selleck.

Here is not applied too thickly. Clearly recommendable!

Matthew Quigley, ein amerikanischer Schütze und Büffeljäger wird von einem Australier (Mr. Marston) angeheuert, ihm durch seine Schießkunst die Dingos zu beseitigen, die ihn auf der Farm und im Umland stören. Doch in Australien bei Marston angekommen, sieht die Sache schon wieder ganz anders aus, denn Marston meint eigentlich die Aborigines. Quigley wird sauer und legt sich mit Marston an. Er und die "verrückte Cora" werden halb bewusstlos im Outback ausgesetzt, laufen viele Meilen doch fallen dann beide um. Schließlich werden sie von Aborigines gerettet und erhalten Schamanenheilung. Marston`s Leute sind aber immer noch nach ihm her und es kommt zu vielen Schießereien. 

Ein sehr guter Western mit einem fabelhaften Tom Selleck. 
Hier wird nicht zu dick aufgetragen. Eindeutig zu empfehlen!

The Night Before

Ethan, Isaac und Chris sind die besten Freunde und machen jedes Jahr, einen Tag vor Weihnachten eine große Sause in New York. Isaac`s Freundin schenkt den Jungs dafür eine Schachtel diverser Drogen, die jemals erfunden wurden. Chris feiert sich selbst, da er nun ein Sportstar geworden ist. Die Jungs erleben allerlei verrückter Sachen und Isaac seinen eigenen Trip, da er reichlich aus der Schachtel kostet. Spätestens als Mr. Green auftaucht, gerät die Sache auf leicht parodisch-mysteriöse Schienen. Nicht nur Kiffer haben Spaß an diesem Film!

Mr. Green: "Das ist der Stoff des Lebens."

Ethan, Isaac and Chris are best friends and do every year, the day before Christmas a big bash in New York. Isaac`s girlfriend gives the guys a box of various drugs that were ever invented. Chris celebrates hisself, since he has become a sports star. The boys do all sorts of crazy things and Isaac has his own trip, because he tastes plenty out of the box. At the latest when Mr. Green shows up, the movie rails parodic-mysterious. Not only potheads have fun with "The Night before".

Mr. Green: "This is the stuff of life."

Lampedusa

Amanda Hunsaker died under mysterious circumstances. Her father consults his old Vietnam colleagues and incumbent police officers Roger. Who will now work as a team with Riggs - a suicidal but highly competent shooter. Roger doesnt trusts Riggs, cause his dangerous behavior at risk. But in the first tricky situation Riggs saves Roger's life and both now work with pooled forces to bring the bad guys under arrest, who are guilty of the murder of Amanda Hunsaker. It is obvious that Amanda's father has a lot of skeletons in the closet.

Has enough pepper in the butt. Exciting. 

Amanda Hunsaker stirbt unter mysteriösen Umständen. Ihr Vater zieht seinen alten Vietnamkollegen und alteingesessenen Polizisten Roger Murtaugh zu Rate. Dieser soll nun im Team mit Riggs arbeiten - einem suizidgefährdeten, doch hochkompetenten Schützen. Roger kann Riggs erst nicht trauen und sieht sich  durch Riggs gefährliches Verhalten in Gefahr. Doch in der ersten brenzligen Situation rettet Riggs Roger das Leben und beide arbeiten nun mit vereinten Kräften, die bösen Jungs - die an dem Mord von Amanda Hunsaker schuldig sind -  zur Strecke zu bringen. Dabei wird offensichtlich, dass Amandas Vater sehr viel Dreck am Stecken hat...

Hat genug Pfeffer im Hintern. Spannend. 

Whale Rider

Koro, the village chief, hopes that he gets a new patriarch, his grandson. According to a Maori legend the ancestor Paikea rode on a whale to New Zealand and founded the village of Whangara. Koro hopes there will be a new born Paikea, who passes competent the customs and traditions of the Maori. But his son's wife dies in childbirth, as well as the male twin. Porourangi, the father, names the twin who survived the birth, a girl, anyway, "Paikea". Koro takes Paikea`s
talent and courage not seriously, because she is female. He witnessed great resentment when she
emancipatory employes with the Maori traditions. Koro makes
the young boys at school familiar with the tribal rites, but desperates later on her
lack of talent. Paikea calls the whales ...

Another proof that German productions lagging behind. This film is easy to see through. The grandfather gets on my nerves with his stupid stubbornness at least since the middle of the film. The theatricality dripping uncomfortable towards the end. Only the last minute is really fun, but was also to be expected in this situation. Not a good movie. Of course it is interesting to witness the Maori language, but that does not weigh on the poor construction by far.

Koro, der Dorfchef, hofft dass ihm ein neues Stammesoberhaupt geboren wird, sein Enkel. Nach einer Maori-Sage kam der Urahn Paikea auf einem Wal geritten nach Neu-Seeland und gründete das Dorf Whangara. Koro hofft, es wird ein neuer Paikea geboren, der die Bräuche und Sitten der Maori
kompetent weitergeben kann. Doch die Frau seines Sohnes stirbt bei der Geburt, sowie der männliche Zwilling. Porourangi, der Vater, benennt den Zwilling, der die Geburt überlebt hat, ein Mädchen, trotzdem "Paikea". Koro nimmt Paikeas
Talent und Mut nicht ernst, da sie weiblich ist und bezeugt jedesmal großen Unmut, wenn diese
sich emanzipatorisch gleichermaßen mit den Maori-Traditionen beschäftigt. Koro macht die
Jungs der Schule mit den Stammesriten vertraut, verzweifelt jedoch später an ihrem
fehlenden Talent. Paikea ruft die Wale...

Ein weiterer Beweis, dass deutsche Produktionen hinterherhinken. Dieser Film ist einfach zu durchschauen. Der Großvater geht einem nach der Hälfte des Films nur noch auf die Nerven mit seiner dämlichen Sturheit. Die Theatralik trieft unangenehm zum Ende hin. Einzig die letzte Minute macht wirklich Spaß, war aber auch in dieser Konstellation zu erwarten. Kein guter Film. Natürlich ist es interessant die Maori-Sprache mitzuerleben, aber das wiegt die schlechte Konstruktion bei Weitem nicht auf.

Aimée & Jaguar

Felice, a cosmopolitan, strong young Jewish woman who lives hidden and works for the newspaper at the time of National Socialism falls in love with a non-Jewish woman, Lilly, who has 4 children and is married to a Wehrmacht soldier. Lilly has to sort this kind of love, but then is hopelessly fallen in love to Felice. Lilly`s husband visited her for birthday, but discovers that her heart no longer belongs to him. Lilly wants the divorce. Felice needs to escape with her jewish friends, as the risk has become too large to be discovered, but then decides to stay with Lilly. This has fatal consequences.

I usually say, there is only one good German film, "The Forest for the Trees", but after this film, there are already two!

Felice, eine weltoffene, starke junge Jüdin, die bei einer Freundin versteckt lebt und für die Zeitung arbeitet zur Zeit des Nationalsozialismus verliebt sich in eine Nicht-Jüdin, Lilly, die 4 Kinder hat und mit einem Wehrmachtssoldaten verheiratet ist. Lilly muss erst diese Art Liebe sortieren, ist dann aber Felice hoffnungslos ergeben. Lilly`s Mann besucht sie zum Geburtstag, muss aber feststellen, dass ihr Herz nun nicht mehr ihm gehört. Lilly beanstandet die Scheidung. Felice soll mit ihren jüdischen Freundinnen fliehen, da das Risiko zu groß geworden ist, entdeckt zu werden, entscheidet sich dann aber, bei Lilly zu bleiben. Dies hat fatale Folgen.

Ich habe sonst gesagt, es gibt nur einen guten deutschen Film, "Der Wald vor lauter Bäumen", aber nach diesem Film, sind es schon zwei!
