Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamt he waswalking with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes of his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand; one belonged to him,
and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

To prove Papi drug trafficking, both rob a bank where Papis money is stored. But there is far more money than expected. Stig leaves Bobby back in the desert, after he shot him. Since he did not murder him, Stigs commanders try to kill Stig. Etc.


The film over-eggs the pudding, but no credible story delivers. Bored me.

Bobby und Stig arbeiten beide als verdeckte Ermittler und wollen einen Drogenboss Papi Greco dingfest machen. Erstaunlicherweise wissen zu anfangs selbst nicht von ihrer beiden geheimen Identität. Um Papi Drogenhandel nachzuweisen, rauben beide eine Bank aus, in dem Papis Geld gelagert ist. Es handelt sich aber um weit mehr Geld, als gedacht. Stig lässt Bobby in der Wüste zurück, nachdem er ihn angeschossen hat. Da er ihn nicht ermordete, wollen Stigs Befehlshaber Stig umbringen. Usw. 

Ein Film, der dick aufträgt, aber keine glaubwürdige Story liefert. Hat mich gelangweilt.

Josh and Cornelia, both mid-forties perform a routine, rather passionless marriage. The desire to have children, they had to cut off after a few failed attempts. That her best friends now have a baby, both are confronted again with their wish. Josh works since 10 years on a documentary, he just does not get done and he still can not pay his cutter. Then both get to know a hipster couple, Darby and Jamie and are impressed by their spontaneity and nonconformity. Cornelia goes with Darby now to a hip hop dance class and Josh helps Jamie with his new documentary project. Also they all four together visit a mescaline-workshop to expand their consciousness.


The film is fun, but the twist seems somehow floppy. Noah could have done a better clue.

Josh und Cornelia, beide Mitte Vierzig führen eine routinierte, eher leidenschaftslose Ehe. Den Kinderwunsch mussten sie abschlagen nach einigen missglückten Versuchen. Dass ihre besten Freunde nun ein Baby haben, erfüllt beide wieder mit Sehnsucht nach Nachwuchs. Josh arbeitet seid 10 Jahren an einem Dokumentarfilm, den er einfach nicht fertig kriegt und seinen Cutter immer noch nicht bezahlen konnte. Dann lernen beide ein Hipster-Päarchen kennen, Darby und Jamie und sind von deren Spontanität und Nonkonformismus beeindruckt. Cornelia geht mit Darby nun zu einem Hip-Hop-Tanzkurs und Josh hilft Jamie bei seinem neuen Doku-Projekt. Außerdem besuchen alle vier zusammen einen Mescalin-Workshop, um ihr Bewusstsein zu erweitern. 

Der Film macht Spaß, doch die Wendung erscheint irgendwie floppig. Da hätte man mehr draus machen können.

Gordon leaves gifts on the doorstep and will pass more often. This alarmes Simon and Robyn, since they can not assess Gordon and because some inconsistencies occur in terms Gordons privacy. When they ask him to not show up, suddenly their dog disappears. Robyn gets into stress and resumes tablets.  Their flagship life gets out of hand. What does Gordon wants? Is he just fell in love with Robyn or it's about something else? Take a look at the film! Very exciting! The first hour of the film, the director plays with the audience's expectations. How do you assess Gordon? Is he a psychopath?

It is a great art to bring a thriller without action still at high voltage. This succeeds Joel Edgerton with flying colors.

Das junge, verheiratete Ehepaar Simon und Robyn Callum zieht in ihr Traumhaus in Los Angeles ein. Ein junger Mann (Gordon) begrüßt sie dort und es stellt sich heraus, dass Gordon ein Mitschüler von Simon war. Gordon hinterlässt Geschenke vor der Haustür und kommt öfters vorbei. Dies beunruhigt Simon und Robyn, da sie Gordon nicht einschätzen können und weil einige Ungereimtheiten auftreten, was Gordons Privatleben angeht. Als sie ihn bitten, nicht mehr aufzukreuzen, verschwindet plötzlich ihr Hund. Robyn gerät in Stress und nimmt wieder Tabletten. Ihr Vorzeigeleben gerät aus dem Ruder. Was will Gordon? Ist er nur verliebt in Robyn oder geht es um etwas anderes? Schaut euch den Film an! Sehr spannend! Die erste Stunde des Filmes spielt der Regisseur mit den Erwartungen der Zuschauer. Wie kann man Gordon einschätzen? Ist er ein Psychopath?

Es ist eine große Kunst, einen Thriller ohne Action trotzdem auf Hochspannung zu bringen. Dies gelingt Joel Edgerton mit Bravour.

Quigley down under

But arrived in Australia things look quite different again, because Marston actually means the Aborigines to kill. Quigley gets pissed and lays in with Marston. He and the "Crazy Cora" get suspended semiconscious in the outback, where they almost die. After all, they are rescued by Aborigines and get shaman healing. But Marston`s people are still after him and there will be many shootings.

A very good Western with a fabulous Tom Selleck.

Here is not applied too thickly. Clearly recommendable!

Matthew Quigley, ein amerikanischer Schütze und Büffeljäger wird von einem Australier (Mr. Marston) angeheuert, ihm durch seine Schießkunst die Dingos zu beseitigen, die ihn auf der Farm und im Umland stören. Doch in Australien bei Marston angekommen, sieht die Sache schon wieder ganz anders aus, denn Marston meint eigentlich die Aborigines. Quigley wird sauer und legt sich mit Marston an. Er und die "verrückte Cora" werden halb bewusstlos im Outback ausgesetzt, laufen viele Meilen doch fallen dann beide um. Schließlich werden sie von Aborigines gerettet und erhalten Schamanenheilung. Marston`s Leute sind aber immer noch nach ihm her und es kommt zu vielen Schießereien. 

Ein sehr guter Western mit einem fabelhaften Tom Selleck. 
Hier wird nicht zu dick aufgetragen. Eindeutig zu empfehlen!

Ethan, Isaac und Chris sind die besten Freunde und machen jedes Jahr, einen Tag vor Weihnachten eine große Sause in New York. Isaac`s Freundin schenkt den Jungs dafür eine Schachtel diverser Drogen, die jemals erfunden wurden. Chris feiert sich selbst, da er nun ein Sportstar geworden ist. Die Jungs erleben allerlei verrückter Sachen und Isaac seinen eigenen Trip, da er reichlich aus der Schachtel kostet. Spätestens als Mr. Green auftaucht, gerät die Sache auf leicht parodisch-mysteriöse Schienen. Nicht nur Kiffer haben Spaß an diesem Film!

Mr. Green: "Das ist der Stoff des Lebens."

Ethan, Isaac and Chris are best friends and do every year, the day before Christmas a big bash in New York. Isaac`s girlfriend gives the guys a box of various drugs that were ever invented. Chris celebrates hisself, since he has become a sports star. The boys do all sorts of crazy things and Isaac has his own trip, because he tastes plenty out of the box. At the latest when Mr. Green shows up, the movie rails parodic-mysterious. Not only potheads have fun with "The Night before".

Mr. Green: "This is the stuff of life."

But in the first tricky situation Riggs saves Roger's life and both now work with pooled forces to bring the bad guys under arrest, who are guilty of the murder of Amanda Hunsaker. It is obvious that Amanda's father has a lot of skeletons in the closet.

Has enough pepper in the butt. Exciting. 

Amanda Hunsaker stirbt unter mysteriösen Umständen. Ihr Vater zieht seinen alten Vietnamkollegen und alteingesessenen Polizisten Roger Murtaugh zu Rate. Dieser soll nun im Team mit Riggs arbeiten - einem suizidgefährdeten, doch hochkompetenten Schützen. Roger kann Riggs erst nicht trauen und sieht sich  durch Riggs gefährliches Verhalten in Gefahr. Doch in der ersten brenzligen Situation rettet Riggs Roger das Leben und beide arbeiten nun mit vereinten Kräften, die bösen Jungs - die an dem Mord von Amanda Hunsaker schuldig sind -  zur Strecke zu bringen. Dabei wird offensichtlich, dass Amandas Vater sehr viel Dreck am Stecken hat...

Hat genug Pfeffer im Hintern. Spannend. 

Whale Rider

Koro, the village chief, hopes that he gets a new patriarch, his grandson. According to a Maori legend the ancestor Paikea rode on a whale to New Zealand and founded the village of Whangara. Koro hopes there will be a new born Paikea, who passes competent the customs and traditions of the Maori. But his son's wife dies in childbirth, as well as the male twin. Porourangi, the father, names the twin who survived the birth, a girl, anyway, "Paikea". Koro takes Paikea`s
talent and courage not seriously, because she is female. He witnessed great resentment when she
emancipatory employes with the Maori traditions. Koro makes
the young boys at school familiar with the tribal rites, but desperates later on her
lack of talent. Paikea calls the whales ...

Another proof that German productions lagging behind. This film is easy to see through. The grandfather gets on my nerves with his stupid stubbornness at least since the middle of the film. The theatricality dripping uncomfortable towards the end. Only the last minute is really fun, but was also to be expected in this situation. Not a good movie. Of course it is interesting to witness the Maori language, but that does not weigh on the poor construction by far.

Koro, der Dorfchef, hofft dass ihm ein neues Stammesoberhaupt geboren wird, sein Enkel. Nach einer Maori-Sage kam der Urahn Paikea auf einem Wal geritten nach Neu-Seeland und gründete das Dorf Whangara. Koro hofft, es wird ein neuer Paikea geboren, der die Bräuche und Sitten der Maori
kompetent weitergeben kann. Doch die Frau seines Sohnes stirbt bei der Geburt, sowie der männliche Zwilling. Porourangi, der Vater, benennt den Zwilling, der die Geburt überlebt hat, ein Mädchen, trotzdem "Paikea". Koro nimmt Paikeas
Talent und Mut nicht ernst, da sie weiblich ist und bezeugt jedesmal großen Unmut, wenn diese
sich emanzipatorisch gleichermaßen mit den Maori-Traditionen beschäftigt. Koro macht die
Jungs der Schule mit den Stammesriten vertraut, verzweifelt jedoch später an ihrem
fehlenden Talent. Paikea ruft die Wale...

Ein weiterer Beweis, dass deutsche Produktionen hinterherhinken. Dieser Film ist einfach zu durchschauen. Der Großvater geht einem nach der Hälfte des Films nur noch auf die Nerven mit seiner dämlichen Sturheit. Die Theatralik trieft unangenehm zum Ende hin. Einzig die letzte Minute macht wirklich Spaß, war aber auch in dieser Konstellation zu erwarten. Kein guter Film. Natürlich ist es interessant die Maori-Sprache mitzuerleben, aber das wiegt die schlechte Konstruktion bei Weitem nicht auf.

Felice, a cosmopolitan, strong young Jewish woman who lives hidden and works for the newspaper at the time of National Socialism falls in love with a non-Jewish woman, Lilly, who has 4 children and is married to a Wehrmacht soldier. Lilly has to sort this kind of love, but then is hopelessly fallen in love to Felice. Lilly`s husband visited her for birthday, but discovers that her heart no longer belongs to him. Lilly wants the divorce. Felice needs to escape with her jewish friends, as the risk has become too large to be discovered, but then decides to stay with Lilly. This has fatal consequences.

I usually say, there is only one good German film, "The Forest for the Trees", but after this film, there are already two!

Felice, eine weltoffene, starke junge Jüdin, die bei einer Freundin versteckt lebt und für die Zeitung arbeitet zur Zeit des Nationalsozialismus verliebt sich in eine Nicht-Jüdin, Lilly, die 4 Kinder hat und mit einem Wehrmachtssoldaten verheiratet ist. Lilly muss erst diese Art Liebe sortieren, ist dann aber Felice hoffnungslos ergeben. Lilly`s Mann besucht sie zum Geburtstag, muss aber feststellen, dass ihr Herz nun nicht mehr ihm gehört. Lilly beanstandet die Scheidung. Felice soll mit ihren jüdischen Freundinnen fliehen, da das Risiko zu groß geworden ist, entdeckt zu werden, entscheidet sich dann aber, bei Lilly zu bleiben. Dies hat fatale Folgen.

Ich habe sonst gesagt, es gibt nur einen guten deutschen Film, "Der Wald vor lauter Bäumen", aber nach diesem Film, sind es schon zwei!

Adams æbler

Ivan, a Danish pastor, housed in his parish a few probation offenders. Adam, a neo-Nazi, is added as a new and collides with his unadorned, sober worldview with Ivan's unconditional optimism. When asked what Adam imagines to afford for the group, he replies that he will bake an apple pie. Adam should now take care of the apple tree in front of the church, but it is afflicted by several catastrophes, which are equally to be found in Ivan`s life. Their extent Ivan isn't able to vizualise and he displaces the truth with euphemism rhetoric. But Adam comes on the track and faces Ivan with reality by metaphors from the Book of Job. Ivan faints and questioned for the first time the meaning of his life.

A very great movie! Must see! Very funny! Very intelligent!

Ivan, ein dänischer Pfarrer, beherbergt in seiner Pfarrei Bewährungs-Straftäter. Adam, ein Neonazi, kommt als neuer hinzu und prallt mit seiner ungeschönten, nüchternen Weltsicht mit dem bedingungslosen Optimismus von Ivan aneinander. Auf die Frage, was Adam sich vorstellt für die Gruppe leisten zu können, antwortet er, er wird einen Apfelkuchen backen. Adam soll sich nun um den Apfelbaum vor der Kirche kümmern, doch dieser wird von mehreren Katastrophen heimgesucht, die ebenso in Ivan`s Leben zu finden sind, deren Ausmaß Ivan sich aber nicht stellt und mit Euphemismus-Rhetorik verdrängt. Doch Adam kommt ihm auf die Spur und konfrontiert Ivan mit der bitteren Wahrheit übermittelt durch Metaphern aus dem Hiob-Buch. Ivan fällt in Ohnmacht und zweifelt zum ersten mal an dem Sinn seines Lebens.

Ein ganz großer Film! Unbedingt anschauen! Sehr witzig! Sehr intelligent!

Bringing out the Dead

Rough, unsecured portrait of paramedic night shifts in the ghettos of New York.

Frank gets pursued by the spirits of the dead, he could not revive and feels like a death angel. Lack of sleep, overtime and constant stress make him a sick zombie who keeps up with vodka and coffee during the night shifts. He asks for immediate termination, but must continue to work. Then he meets Mary, the daughter of a deathly ill patient, she also struggles with her life. Both fall in love. Frank, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, gets involved with a drug dealer and experienced a horror trip. He remembers his failure at Rose's revival. Mary also takes drugs again.

A very successful film. The frantic night ambulance rides, accentuated by an excellent
soundtrack and the ingenious camera are creating an image of an ecstasy-flash. In particular, the talks between the driver and passenger are brisk, tough and brilliant. A masterpiece!

Rauhes, ungeschöntes Abbild der Rettungssanitäter-Nachtschichten in den Ghettos von New York.

Frank wird von den Geistern der Toten verfolgt, die er nicht wiederbeleben konnte und fühlt sich als Todesengel. Schlafmangel, Überstunden und Dauerstress machen aus ihm einen kranken Zombie, der sich mit Wodka und Kaffee während der Nachtschichten bei der Stange hält. Er bittet um sofortige Kündigung, doch muss weiterarbeiten. Dann lernt er Mary kennen, die Tochter eines todkranken Patienten, welche ebenfalls mit dem Leben hadert. Beide verlieben sich. Frank, am Rande des Nervenzusammenbruchs, lässt sich auf einen Drogendealer ein und erlebt einen Horrortrip. Er erinnert sich an sein Versagen bei Rose's Wiederbelebung. Auch Mary nimmt wieder Drogen.

Ein sehr gelungener Film. Die hektischen, nächtlichen Rettungswagen-Fahrten werden durch den exzellenten

which Lisi but randomly then cashed as a donation for Schillergymnasium. This gets shipped for twinschool in thailand. As Zeki learns where his prey goes,
he spontaneously organized a parallel journey with his class at the Goethe School.
Both classes of Schiller Gymnasium and the Goethe-Gesamtschule camouflage
as an environmental-AG but have crazy things up his sleeves.

Zeki Müller, ein Ganove, hat den Lehrerblues. Seine Freundin Lisi versucht ihn mittels Gesichtsakupunktur zu helfen. Zeki erhält derweilen Informationen über das Versteck
der damals erbeuteten 14 Diamanten. Diese versteckt er nun in dem Plüschtier seiner Tochter,
welches Lisi aber zufällig dann als Spende fürs Schillergymnasium einkassiert. Diese wird
nach Thailand verschifft für eine Patenschule. Als Zeki erfährt, wohin seine Beute geht,
organisiert er spontan eine Parallelfahrt mit seiner Klasse der Goethe-Gesamtschule.
Beide Klassen des Schillergymnasiums und der Goethe-Gesamtschule tarnen sich
als Umwelt-AG doch haben verrückte Dinge im Schilde. Wird Zeki
seine Diamanten finden? Wird es eine Valiumüberdosis geben?
Wird es bekiffte, bekinis-tragende Jungs singend und auf Elefanten reitend geben?
Wird jemand von einem Affen erschlagen?
Muss jemand nackig im Snackautomaten der Schule gefangen sein?
Gibt es eine literarische Wiederbelebung?

In order to recapture Louise there will be a duel between Louise's new lover Foy and Albert. Anna gives Albert meanwhile shooting practice. The duel is different than planned because Foy was poisoned the day before by Anna with diarrheal powder and Foy. Albert, who has now fallen in love for Anna, leaves Foy Louise without duel. But suddenly Anna's husband surfaces, the most murderous bandit of the country and calls on those who was seen with his wife, to a duel. What does Albert? Will he be brave or he runs away?

Very good comedy, often coarse humor. But definitely the film is too long for that slapstick.


Albert ist ein schlechter Schafzüchter und ein noch schlechterer Cowboy. Kein Wunder, dass ihn Louise verlässt. Doch plötzlich taucht Anna auf, die Alberts Leben gehörig aufmischt. Um Louise zurückzuerobern wird ein Duell zwischen Louises neuen Lover Foy und Albert ausgemacht. Anna gibt Albert derweilen Schießübungen. Das Duell verläuft anders als geplant, denn Foy wurde am Tag zuvor von Anna mit Durchfallpulver vergiftet und Foy kann sich nicht halten. Albert, der sich nun in Anna verguckt hat, überlässt Foy Louise ohne Duell. Doch plötzlich taucht Annas Ehemann auf, der mörderischste Bandit des Landes und fordert denjenigen, der mit seiner Frau gesehen wurde, zu einem Duell auf. Was tut Albert? Traut er sich oder rennt er weg?

Sehr gute Komödie, oft derber Humor. Der Film ist aber viel zu lang für diese Art Slapstick.

He learns that he has inherited a hostel in a small village near Quebec. In order to convince his daughter Catherine to come with him, he mentions an inheritance of 1 million euros. Suddenly Catherine is willing, and both travel to Sainte-Simone-du-Nord. Because of the reluctance of Mayor to accept french inhabitants, their lives made a hell. The Mayor and his crew drive Catherine literally insane, whereas Pierre Martin against every disappointment impersonates an unshakable optimism, which leads to a striking turn.

Wonderfully worked out profile of Catherine. Beautifully light-footed film.

Pierre Martin ist Professor für Quantenphysik in Paris und Philosophieprofessor, wobei er besonderen Wert legt auf die Philosophie der Freude. Er erfährt, dass er eine Herberge in einem kleinen Seelendorf nahe Quebec geerbt hat. Um seine Tochter Catherine zu überzeugen mitzureisen, erwähnt er eine Erbschaft von 1 Million Euro. Plötzlich ist die Weigerung Catherines im Nu verflogen und beide reisen nach Sainte-Simone-du-Nord. Dort wird ihnen das Leben aber zur Höhle gemacht, wegen der Abneigung des  Bürgermeisters Franzosen in das Dorf aufzunehmen. Der Bürgermeister und seine Crew treiben Catherine buchstäblich in den Wahnsinn, wohingegen Pierre Martin gegen jede Enttäuschung einen unerschütterlichen Optimismus an den Tag legt, der zu einer bemerkenswerter Wendung führt.

Wunderbar ausgearbeitet Profil von Catherine. Schön leichtfüßiger Film.

Theodore writes love letters on order for a company. In his private life he still struggles, because a separation and the divorce is imminent. He buys an operating system with an artificial intelligence that is called Samantha. Samantha is very clever (of course), they've got good conservations and he soonly falls in love with her. Even Samantha loves Theodore. It comes to a physical experience between them through a mediator who will serve as Samantha.

Somehow total nonsense. If the subject were not so stupid, it would become a really good movie. The camera is good, the cut, the dialogues. Everything is great, except for the issue.

Theodore schreibt Liebesbriefe auf Bestellung für eine Firma. Privat hat er noch zu Kämpfen, da er eine Trennung hinter sich hat und die Scheidung bevorsteht. Er kauft sich ein Betriebssystem mit einer künstlichen Intelligenz, die sich Samantha nennt. Samantha ist sehr clever (natürlich), sie haben gute Gespräche und er verliebt sich bald in sie. Auch Samantha liebt Theodore. Es kommt sogar zu einem körperlichen Erlebnis zwischen beiden durch eine Mittlerin, die als Samantha fungieren soll.

Irgendwie totaler Quatsch. Wenn das Thema nicht so doof wäre, wär es ein richtig guter Film geworden. Die Kamera ist gut, der Schnitt, die Dialoge. Alles super, außer das Thema.

Manolo has a tapas bar, but his wife, who helped him in the kitchen, leaves him. He finds a smart Japanese who possesses incredible cooking arts and martial arts. Furthermore, the story revolves around the two supermarket workers Opo and César, who look forward to the summer holidays where they want to meet a lot of hot women. César meets the cornershop-woman Raquel and sleeps with her. Opo gets drugs by Grandma Dona Conchi for Césars birthday celebration. Meanwhile Dona tries to make the last days for her cancer-sick man as comfortable as possible...

Excellent film.

Manolo hat eine Tapas Bar, aber seine Frau, die ihm in der Küche ausgeholfen hat, verlässt ihn. Er findet einen smarten Japaner, der unglaubliche Kochkünste und Kampfkünste besitzt. Desweiteren handelt die Geschichte von den zwei Supermarkt-Arbeitern Opo und César, die sich auf die Sommerferien freuen und auf einem Festival viele heiße Frauen kennenlernen wollen. César trifft die Gemüsefrau Raquel und schläft mit ihr. Opo besorgt Drogen bei der Oma Dona Conchi für Césars Geburtstagsfeier. Derweilen versucht Dona ihrem krebskranken Mann die letzten Tage so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten...

Ausgezeichneter Film. Unbedingt anschauen!

The wolves grab one after the other, whenever the person is in a rather weak constitution.

Bad survival movie. Implausible. Boring dialogues. Unsatisfactory end.

John arbeitet in Alaska als Jäger für eine Ölindustrie. Seine Frau ist gestorben und er ringt mit dem Sinn des Lebens. Als die Arbeiter mit dem Flugzeug nachhause fliegen, gibt es starke Turbulenzen. Es kommt zum Absturz, viele haben diesen nicht überlebt. In eisiger Wildnis mit 25°C unter Null in der Nacht und mitten in einem Wolfsrevier sind die restlichen Männer größter Gefahr ausgesetzt. Die Wölfe schnappen sich einen nach den anderen, immer wenn dieser in einer eher schwachen Verfassung steht.

Schlechter Survival-Film. Unglaubwürdig. Langweilige Dialoge. Unbefriedigendes Ende.

Gabriel's cognitive functions are sorely afflicted. He has no short-term memory and only remembers certain events from the 60s, when they are coupled with a song. Henry engaged a music therapist and now you can experience Gabriel completely clear in mind. Namely if a piece of music was played to him, which he knows. In flashbacks, the dispute between Father and Son is set forth, which led to the fact that Gabriel left home. Henry, the father, addresses reproaches to himself and now finally begins to devote more attention to his son.

About the healing power of music and a tribute to the hippie era and about typic family disput during teenager years. Great movie! Must see! (Brought me back to the Grateful Dead. Since the film marathon the first film, which made me cry)

Nach 20 Jahren Funkstille zu ihrem Sohn Gabriel erhalten Henry und Helen einen Anruf aus dem Krankenhaus. Ihrem Sohn wird ein sehr großer Tumor aus dem Gehirn entfernt. Gabriels kognitive Funktionen sind stark beeinträchtigt. Er hat kein Kurzzeitgedächtnis mehr und erinnert sich nur an bestimmte Ereignisse aus den 60'er Jahren, wenn sie mit einem Song gekoppelt sind. Henry engagiert eine Musiktherapeutin und nun erlebt man Gabriel zum ersten mal wieder völlig klar im Kopf. Nämlich wenn ihm ein ihn bekanntes Musikstück vorgespielt wird. In Rückblenden wird der damalige Streit zwischen Vater und Sohn dargelegt, der dazu führte, dass Gabriel sein Elternhaus verließ und sich nicht mehr blicken ließ. Er soll wohl auch obdachlos gewesen sein. Henry, der Vater, macht sich Vorwürfe und beginnt nun endlich sich mehr auf seinen Sohn einzulassen.

Über die heilende Kraft der Musik sowie eine Homage an die Hippiezeit in Amerika und über den typischen Familienzwist während der Teenagerzeit. Ein sehr guter Film! Brachte mich zurück zu den Grateful Dead. (Seit dem Filmmarathon der erste Film, der mich zum Weinen brachte)

Both drag southward to escape the cold winter. Their survival material they stored in a shopping cart. They live in a very hostile world, always looking for food in abandoned buildings. The father shows his son how to commit suicide with the gun, in case there is no way out. Who can you trust? What sense does life have anymore? The father's role is to bring his son through the days without being overrun by cannibals.

Dark, thrilling and thought-provoking. The
 book is also very good, I heard!

Es herrscht Anarchie auf der Welt. Der Großteil der Bevölkerung, der Pflanzen und der Tiere ist gestorben. Vereinzelt leben Banden, die sich durch Kannibalismus ernähren und einige, die noch nach Moralvorstellungen leben, wie die beiden Hauptprotagonisten, Vater und Sohn, welche die Mutter verloren haben, weil sie keinen Lebenssinn mehr sah. Sie ziehen mit einem Einkaufswagen Richtung Süden um dem kalten Winter zu entgehen. Sie leben in einer sehr lebensfeindlichen Welt immer auf der Suche nach Nahrung in verlassenen Gebäuden. Der Vater zeigt dem Sohn, wie man mit der Pistole Selbstmord begeht, im Falle es gibt keinen Ausweg mehr. Wem können sie trauen? Welchen Sinn hat das Leben noch? Des Vaters Aufgabe ist, seinen Sohn durch die Tage zu bringen ohne von Kannibalen überrannt zu werden.

Düster, spannend und regt zum Nachdenken an. Der Roman soll wohl auch sehr gut sein!

We are in the second half of the 21st century. The future of humanity is threatened by bad living conditions for plants, triggered by decades of pollution. Everywhere is dust in the air and the industrial economy and NASA-investments are folded. The NASA astronaut Cooper has therefore abandoned its appeal and manages a farm. He has a daughter Murphy, who discoveres mysterious signs in the sand on the floor of her room, which indicated Cooper as a binary code. There are also gaps in Murphys bookshelf representing Morse code. Through these coordinates Cooper finds the secret NASA station. The boss, Professor Brand, tolds him about a wormhole near the Saturn, through which one may reach a habitable planet and therefore they could save mankind. It has already flown a crew in this direction, but they haven't received no furhter messages. The "signs", so Brand, had come from "them". [WHOM? ALIENS?] Cooper says goodbye to his family and flies with the Crew, inter alia, Brands daughter Dr. Amelia Brand, towards the wormhole, there they dock the space shuttle to the ring spaceship "Endurance". Etcetera

Actually, I did not want to watch the film, because McConaughey's exaggerated ego, what annoys me. But the story itself is good, I wanted to see these new dimensions. Unfortunately a big disappointment. The implementing is catastrophic. These plates, pathetic dialogues! One would like boxing in the TV. Also, there are some inconsistencies: The 2-year hibernation will not even briefly illuminated, you get the impression it's just a night passed.

Es sei bereits eine Crew in diese Richtung geflogen, doch man hat keine weiteren Nachrichten mehr erhalten. Die "Zeichen", so Brand, seien von "denen" gekommen. [Aliens?] Cooper verabschiedet sich von seiner Familie und fliegt mit der Crew, u.a. auch dabei Brands Tochter Dr. Amelia Brand, in Richtung Wurmloch, dort dockt das Space-Shuttle an das Ring-Raumschiff "Endurance". Usw. Etcetera

Eigentlich wollte ich den Film nicht gucken, wegen McConaughey's übertriebenen Ego, was mich nervt. Doch die Story ist an sich gut, ich wollte mal diese neuen Dimensionen sehen. Leider eine große Enttäuschung. Die Umsetzung ist katastrophal. Diese platten, pathetischen Dialoge! Man möchte am liebsten in den Fernseher boxen. Auch gibt es einige Ungereimtheiten: Der 2-Jahres-Kälteschlaf wird nicht mal kurz beleuchtet, man hat den Eindruck es ist nur eine Nacht vergangen.
Desweiteren muss der Co-Astronaut Romilly Cooper erklären, wie ein Wurmloch funktioniert. Der dies als angesehenster Astronaut wissen müsste. Schade um das verschwendete Geld. #TBM_typical boring_movie

There he gets to know his new friends, all of them small constructing-geniuses. Hiro also meets Professor Callaghan, whom he appreciates a lot, because he can build very advanced robot software. Tadashi shows him his new project, a health-robot named Baymax, which looks like a Marshmallow. Baymax charming dodderiness (which is the magnetic point during trailer) is soonly undermined by a battle suit and we see almost only action scenes and a stale plot, one has already seen a hundred times. Therefore, only 1 point for adults.

Hiro Hamada, ein High-Tech-Genie baut für illegale Roboterwettkämpfe kleine Kampfmaschinen. Sein Bruder Tadashi stellt ihn daraufhin in einem Hochschullabor für verrückte Experimente vor. Dort lernt er seine neuen Freunde kennen, allesamt kleine Baugenies. Hiro begegnet er auch Professor Callaghan, den er sehr hoch schätzt, weil er sehr fortschrittliche Robotersoftware bauen kann. Tadashi zeigt ihm sein neues Projekt, ein Gesundheitsroboter namens Baymax, welcher wie ein Marshmallow aussieht. Baymax charmante Trotteligkeit (für die im Trailer geworben wird) wird bald durch einen Kampfanzug untergraben und wir erleben fast nur noch Actionszenen und einen altbackenen Plot, den man schon hundertmal gesehen hat. Deshalb nur 1 Punkt für Erwachsene.
