Oliver, a graphic designer, is still in the mourning phase since his father died. At a costume party, where he is disguised as Sigmund Freud, he meets the Frenchwoman Anna. Both communicate initially only in sign language, since Anna suffers from a laryngeal inflammation. Soon both will be a couple. In  retrospective the film shows Oliver's family history, focusing on the last time in the life of the father, who first had his coming-out when his wife died. He becomes the lover of  a man who is younger for decades ...

This film is certainly not suitable for a mainstream audience, since simply too little happens. And it is more like a psychic review of the family history around the director himself. In this film, a little too much navel show is run and the constant change from melancholic fundamental tone to charming ease passes through the whole film completely and leaves one in the end disappointed with a feeling that The film somehow presented a faux-naiv.

 Oliver, ein Grafikdesigner, ist  noch in der Trauerphase, da sein  Vater gestorben ist.  Bei einer Kostümparty, bei der er als Sigmund Freud verkleidet ist, lernt er die Französin  Anna kennen . Beide kommunizieren anfangs nur in Zeichensprache, da Anna an einer Kehlkopfentzündung leidet. Bald werden beide ein Paar.  In Rückblenden wird Olivers Familiengeschichte erzählt, dabei wird besonders Schwerpunkt gelegt auf die letzte Zeit im Leben des Vaters, der sich erst zu seiner Homosexualität bekannte, als seine Frau starb. Er lernt einen um Jahrzehnte jüngeren Mann kennen...

Dieser Film ist sicherlich nicht für ein Mainstream-Publikum geeignet, da einfach zu wenig passiert.  Und ist eher eine psychische Aufarbeitung der Familiengeschichte um den Regisseur selbst. In diesem Film wird ein bisschen zu viel Nabelschau betrieben und der  ständige Wechsel von melancholischen Grundton zu charmanter Leichtigkeit durchzieht  vollständig den gesamten Film und lässt einen am Ende enttäuscht zurück mit einem Gefühl, dass der Film irgendwie falsche Naivität dargestellt hat.
