The second part of Trainspotting 21 years later: Mark travels back to Edinburgh after his marriage is at stake in Amsterdam and he has lost his job. There he meets Spud again, who is heroin-dependent again. Mark saved him from suicide. When Mark meets Sick Boy, Sick Boy hits him hard because he is still angry that Mark escaped with the money before 20 years. Sick Boy is constantly on cocaine and earnes by blackmail his money. With this money he would like to open a brothel. In Mark, he finds a partner for his business idea. Spud, on the other hand, has a writing flash and writes down the history of his life. Begbie frees himself from prison and is now possessed to kill Mark. Also sour, that Mark went away with the money.

The film disappointed me. It is superfluous. He does not know where he wants to go. The characters lack the original vivacity. The soundtrack is only noise and the story stranded in the nowhere. Yes, he has his 5 minutes. The scene, namely, where Mark holds a monologue before Veronica: "Say yes to life".

Attention to Ex-Junkies: The next hour you can feel the jones again.
 
 Der zweite Teil von Trainspotting  21 Jahre später:  Mark reist wieder nach Edinburgh, nachdem  in Amsterdam seine Ehe auf dem Spiel steht und er seinen Job verloren hat. Dort trifft er Spud wieder, der  wieder heroinabhängig ist.  Mark rettet ihm vorm Selbstmord.  Als Mark Sick Boy trifft, prügelt Sick Boy ihn stark, weil er immer noch sauer ist, dass Mark damals mit dem Geld abgehauen ist.  Sick  Boy ist ständig auf Kokain und  verdient durch Erpressung sein Geld. Mit diesem Geld möchte er ein Bordell eröffnen.  In Mark findet er einen Partner für seine Geschäftsidee. Spud hingegen hat einen Schreibflash und schreibt die damalige Geschichte nieder. Begbie befreit sich aus dem Knast und ist nun wie ein Besessener hinter Mark her, um ihn umzubringen. Auch sauer, dass Mark damals mit dem ganzen Geld abgehauen ist...

Der Film hat mich enttäuscht. Er ist überflüssig. Er weiß nicht, wo er hin will. Den Charakteren fehlt es an der ursprünglichen Lebhaftigkeit. Der Soundtrack ist nur Krach und die Geschichte strandet im Nirgendwo. Ja, er hat seine 5 Minuten. Die Szene nämlich, wo Mark vor Veronika einen Monolog hält zum Thema: "Sag Ja zum Leben".

Warnung an Ex-Junkies: Die nächste Stunde könntest du dich wieder rattig fühlen.
