Johnny Farrell is hired by the casino boss Ballin Mundson because he can outwit the casino, and will now trick for the casino. He meets Ballin's wife Gilda, with whom he then had a relationship. For someone who is accustomed to watch movies from not later than the 80's, this old ham is a bit too boring. Therefore, only 3 points. Although the story is very good, but the scenes are unnecessarily protracted and this leads to a slight apathy. Impressive is how the "beast", the "Jezebel" Gilda becomes a likeable lady.
Johnny Farrell wird im Casino vom Chef Ballin Mundson angeheuert, weil er raffiniert die Spielbank austricksen kann und soll nun für das Casino tricksen. Er lernt Ballin's Frau Gilda kennen, mit der er damals eine Beziehung hatte. Beide hegen eine Hassliebe füreinander und täuschen vor, sich nicht von früher zu kennen, doch Ballin durchschaut dies und hat Interesse an ihrem gegenseitigen Hass, denn "nur Hass lässt mich erwärmen", so Ballin. Ballin treibt aber auch illegale Geschäfte mit Wolframschmuggel und ermordet im Casino einen Deutschen, der auf seine Anteile pochte. Was wird nun aus Johnny und Gilda? Es geht turbulent weiter!
Für jemanden, der fast nur Filme ab 1980 gewohnt ist, ist dieser alte Schinken ein bisschen zu langweilig. Deshalb nur 3 Punkte. Obwohl die Story sehr gut ist, werden die Szenen doch unnötig in die Länge gezogen und dies führt zu einer leichten Teilnahmslosigkeit. Beeindruckend ist allemal, wie aus der anfänglichen Schlange, dem Biest Gilda eine doch sympathische Frau wird.
